Recognised as one of India’s most watched and most participated esports properties, BGIS 2026 returns with a larger-than-ever format, running from January to March 2026. Thousands of squads from across India will battle through multiple online and LAN stages for national recognition and a share of the ₹2 Crore prize pool.
Registrations are already live on the Krafton India Esports Website. It will remain open till 4th January 2026. Check out the BGIS 2026 Format Explained below.
In-Game Qualifiers
Dates: 8th – 14th January, 2026
Players who have registered for BGIS 2026 will have to play 15 matches [Classic Mode, Ranked (Perspective: TPP) – Erangel & Miramar]. The top 10 of 15 matches will be considered for evaluation and scored accordingly. In the case of a tie, certain parameters such as finishes, survival time, accuracy, etc. will be considered. The top 1016 teams will qualify for the BGIS 2026 Round 1.
The Grind
Dates: 17th January – 1st February, 2026
In The Grind, 64 teams will be invited and divided into 4 groups. Each group will play 24 matches, and the stage will run for 16 days in 4 sets of 4 days each . Teams will qualify for the BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA SERIES 2026 through the following rounds:
Set 1: 17th – 20th Jan (Group D & Group C):
Group D and Group C will play their first 12 matches. Their remaining 12 matches will be played in Set 2.
Set 2: 21st – 24th Jan (Group C & Group D):
Group C and Group D will play their remaining 12 matches. From Group D, the top 8 teams based on the overall standings will advance to Round 2, while the remaining 8 teams will drop to Round 1. From Group C, the top 8 teams based on the overall standings will advance to Round 3, while the remaining 8 teams will drop to Round 2.
Set 3: 25th – 28th Jan (Group B & Group A):
Group B and Group A will play their first 12 matches. Their remaining 12 matches will be played in Set 4.
Set 4: 29th Jan – 1st Feb (Group A & Group B):
Group A and Group B will play their remaining 12 matches. From Group B, the top 8 teams based on the overall standings will advance to Round 4, while the remaining 8 teams will drop to Round 3. From Group A, the top 8 teams based on the overall standings will advance to the Quarter-Finals (QF), while the remaining 8 teams will drop to Round 4.
Round 1: 26th January – 1st February, 2026
1024 Teams – 1016 Teams from the In-Game Qualifiers (IGQ) + 8 Bottom Teams from Grind Group D.
64 Groups – 6 Matches Each group.
- The Top 7 Teams from each group will advance to Round 2.
- An additional 48 Teams, based on overall standings among the remaining Teams, will qualify for Round 2.
Round 2: 5th – 8th February, 2026
512 Teams – 496 Teams from Round 1 + 8 Top Teams from Grind Group D+ 8 Bottom Teams from Grind Group C.
32 Groups – 6 Matches Each group.
- The Top 7 Teams from each group will advance to Round 3.
- An additional 16 Teams, based on overall standings among the remaining Teams, will qualify for Round 3.
Round 3: 12th – 15th February, 2026
256 Teams – 240 Teams from Round 2 + 8 Top Teams from Grind Group C + 8 Bottom Teams from Grind Group B.
16 Groups – 6 Matches Each group.
- The Top 6 Teams from each group will advance to Round 4.
- An additional 16 Teams, based on overall standings among the remaining Teams, will qualify for Round 4.
Round 4: 19th – 22nd February, 2026
128 Teams – 112 Teams from Round 3 + 8 Top Teams from Grind Group B + 8 Bottom Teams from Grind Group A.
8 Groups – 6 Matches Each group.
- The Top 6 Teams from each group will advance to Quarter Finals.
- An additional 8 Teams, based on overall standings among the remaining Teams, will qualify for Wildcard Round.
Quarter Finals: 26th February – 1st March, 2026
64 Teams – 56 Teams from Round 4 + 8 Top Teams from Grind Group A.
4 Groups – 6 Matches Each group.
Qualification:
- The Top 16 Teams, based on overall standings, will advance to Semi-Finals.
- Teams ranked 17th–40th will move to the Wildcard Round.
Wildcard Entry: 5th – 8th March, 2026
32 Teams – 24 Teams from Quarter Finals + 8 Teams ranked 57th–64th from Round 4.
4 Groups – Round Robin Format – 12 Matches Each group.
- The Top 8 Teams, based on cumulative standings, will advance to Semi-Finals.
Semi Finals: 12th – 15th March, 2026
24 Teams – 16 Teams from Quarter Finals + 8 Teams from Wildcards.
3 Groups – Round Robin Format – 16 Matches Each group.
- The Top 8 Teams, based on overall standings, will advance to the Grand Finals.
Survival Stage: 16th – 17th March, 2026
16 Teams from Semi Finals. 2 Days – 12 Matches.
- The Top 8 Teams, based on overall standings, will advance to the Grand Finals.
Grand Finals: 27th – 29th March, 2026
16 Teams (8 Teams from Semi-Finals + 8 Teams from Survival Stage).
3 Days. LAN Event. 18 Matches.
